The thing with levelling Ranger is; You just look too damn cool for school.

I’m probably the worst Ranger ever because I get lost in staring at how minted I look in everything I do as Ranger D:

I’ve levelled ze job quite a lot over Christmas and up to now It currently stands at 68~! Burnt through all my Anny ring ready for the event in … March? Level sync has made this really fun as every partys been with some LS members It started to feel like I couldnt survive in a party without Kedregan. We were having a nice little competition going on, who could keep hate, the RNG or the PLD? XD Sorry to say that Ked being an awesome PLD means he won most of the time ; ;

This party was especially special to me, not only because Spen and Lasaro were in it, but because it had everyones favourite bought character – Nyaenhehe <3

Nyaenheheh was the first Gil seller me and my sister ever saw. Back in the days when Gil sellers would attempt to mana burn their way to 75 starting from level 1…

Not knowing about Gil sellers me and my sister were just very confused about why a party of 5 BLMs with level one gear were constantly dying in Yhoator Jungle. Then sporadically talking nonsense and not accepting Raises.

And so the name Nyaenhehe stuck in our minds ever since. Then last year she popped up again in better gear, with an LS etc. Every time I see them I wanna say ‘HOWS THE BOUGHT CHARACTER WORKING OUT FOR YA?!’ but they wouldnt understand )’:

Also in this party was a dick of a SMN, constantly not doing what we asked (and it seemed to be on purpose). I’d just like to say this SMN was invited to DD and seemed to go out of his way to suck at it, and its a prime example of why I never invite SMNs to DD. Every time I’ve been in a party where a SMN can DD they seem to not want to… like they’d rather cure whore…

Anyways, to get him back for being an ass we disbanded before his level ;P he left in a huff when we said we wouldnt wait for it and then the 5 of us laughed at him.

THEN CAME A PARTY WITH BOB AND KED, WHILE WEIS SAT AND WATCHED! This camp was horrible D: some Puk camp at the furthest point S/W in the Woodlands, long ass pulls D: NEVER GO THERE!

This party was memorable as 2 people suddenly left as they had an LS event. What strange LS’s when they spring events on you just after you level. l’ll have to get one and see how it works…

When the THF asked which RNG wanted to pull and we quckly said none, you should. He said;

‘lol yea but then i g2 [Disengage] lol but i guess so.. when we get to 65 though one rng is gonna lol’

to which I orz’d. They were a nice person and turned out to be a good puller, but the though that a THF thinks them having to disengage to pull is a problem made me wanna hit my head on the keyboard lol

Despite the rather ranty post I had HUGE amounts of fun Thanks to my friends for partying with me. Level sync rocks <3 Thankfully my skills only gimped by a few levels.

At the moment I’m in a predicament as RNG :/ unlike my RDM where I can basically buy my way into good gear, RNG gear sucks from AH and NMs >_< I’ll have to do Dyna and Sky to be decent. The problem is I don’t have time for these in my life :/ I could do Sky say once a week? Finding a Shell that doesn’t split after a little while seems to be hard. Everyone I know seems to be in LS where people bugger off and the LS has to reform, meaning all the time spent on points is lost. I really don’t have the luxury to devote the time to regaining points if my Sky LS falls apart :/ I’m not sure what to do. Guess I need to bite the bullet and try it. I’ve done Sky once before and found it very fun.

If anyone on Hades knows of a good Sky LS that runs at decent GMT hours and wants a RDM drop me a line >_< I don’t mind at all having to spend time saving up points, just so long as the LS isn’t fragile enough to disband D:

But first a quick update on Rng

When one last posted about ones Ranger job, one was level 35ish. However in an epic story a few weeks ago about a wee Mandy there was a sneak peek at my Ranger status.

Funds have been balanced by spamming Titan on Barthezz and Millionsknives everyday I log on. 20k in 20mins everyday. So i break even at least on the cost of ammo.

I had a nice little static with Spencer, he was DNC.

This picture is to prove I’m not lying. See? He’s there on the right. We’d party together all happy and then he’d do nothing but Campaign in any free time, eventually levelling up ahead of me. Then da next day go ‘D:’ when I was too low level… which made me wanna punch his groin. However bless his cotton socks, or wool socks? idk hes allergic to one. Anwyay, bless them as he unwillingly kept waiting for me to catch up again. Now we have level sync those few weeks were a wasted endeavour. I had fun tho.

I was partying with Livija and Gary in Kuftal. Gary, who is a BLACK MAGE was MBing on crabs for over 1k damage. I had Barthezz PLing us and the exp was great.

MB for 1k damage in an exp party, every black mages dream eh?

After all, who invites a lolBLM to DD these days?

Eventually a member left, me, being an awesome leader, decided to invite another BLM,

What BLM wants to camp on birds and be forced to main heal? Is this what people level BLM expecting/wanting now? I can understand the stigma of Kuftal, but when BLM is used in the proper way there the exp flies by.

In this PT only me and the BLM had any brains. The PLD would insist to rest up to atl east 100 MP before fights despite the BLM having a tonne of MP to spare and being more then willing to heal. The DRG i’m not even gonna mention the dex, agi and eva+ drg >_>

He was the PT leader.

Meeling when I first joined, barely shooting any arrows. After I’d been in the party about ten minutes he started to follow my lead of actually using V Shot and standing back to fire arrows >_> However later on in the party, he started to mellee again using Axes and Blast Shot for WS. Why any Ranger want to use Blast Shot over Sidewinder idk, it’s Dmg was no where near Sidewinder >.> He explained he needed to skill up his axes…

Then his sanction wore off and he simply had to go back and reapply it, after all, it extended the duration of the food he wasnt eating. When he came back and meeleed some more I’d just run out of arrows, and rather then using a quiver and loosing inventory space I just stopped firing arrows too and stood there. I had lolparser up so knew i was doing nearly all of the PTs dmg (especially squewed since our only other main DD went to get sanction). Luckily a minute before this we’d agreed to disband in 10 mins time, if it had been longer I’d have just left. The thing about Ranger is, I’m spending money to damage the mob, and if everyone else in the party are tight and retarded I’m not spending that money, unless it brings me lulz like this party did for a good few hours Novelty wore off just in time for it to disband heehee

Dont read that thinking I’m angry, I had a great time I love funny parties, which is why I stayed for as long as I did XD. He apparently had 6 level 65 jobs and couldnt decide what to try maat as made me giggle he bragged about that.

Back on track, my RNG has also been getting full AF well, my RDM has for my RNG:

Em, yea, that bit didnt go so smoothly. The mob was literally at 5% and then we got agro from 2 mobs which just tipped things over the edge D: my poor level 50 friends couldnt hold them off and I wasnt able to keep sleeping them XD But later we killed it so it all worked out in the end!

The storyline of the AF was coolies. I’m left a little confused so I’II read up on it then post the amazin clips.

Buuuut starting from 55+ I’m sort of lost in how I’m meant to pull :/ I’d expect the standard to be; having a mob ready at camp when the current one has just died. However, what with being amazingly powerful on Colibri (yay 1.3k Dmg for Sidewinder!) I need to WS and let that WS kill the mob or noone can ever get hate off me and i die :/ Dying is bawd D: But because of that i cant have one lined up at the camp ready. Idk whats expected if anyone cares to comment on that please tell!

NOW ONTO DRAMA

I cant believe this is even an issue!

Issue is; should blogs post none-FFXI content on TTTO?

The way I looked at the site its an area for bloggers who play FFXI, it says at the top ‘TTTO brings you the latest blog posts from FFXI bloggers from all servers.’ not ‘TTTO brings you the latest blog posts about FFXI from FFXI bloggers from all servers.’ To me ‘FFXI bloggers” implys people who play FFXI and write blogs, it would follow a fair few of the post will have FFXI content but it doesnt say they should/will.

FFXI isnt our entire lives. I read the posts about IRL that people post and i post things unrelated to FFXI. I dont like WoW, i dont read those posts, but, who cares? Admittedly if you are just playing WoW then take your blog off, but say you take a month break from FFXI and try WoW, keep it up. You’re still and FFXI blogger and your posts should be up there.

In fact, quoting the about section;
‘Everyone can still blog about anything they like (preferably FFXI-related). Informative posts, funny things, new items they acquired or big kills.’

Which is basically what I just said FFXI yar, we play it, we live it, but its not all we do.

Red Mage Rules: Buy Jet seraweels over Errant Slops! It took me nearly a year to get over the price diffo but gawd, how ugly are errant slops?! Yea the stats on Jet are marginally better but they look great! RDM is about the looks gdi!

The LS exp static is going ahead we’ve been unlucky all of last week, the jungles have been so crowded! When did people soloing exp mobs become so popular -_-.

But today we made some great exp! I got my ranger from 24 to 27~ I luuuuuuuuuve this job. Deffo my next level 75 Roll on 60 so I can sell my Drk gear!!

There was one tard who complained about us ‘camping on top of them’, what a joke tho lol, we had a lil SM Vs Stranger argument >:D we won! Even Izzy stopped being impartial to the argument lol ^_^

But the main point of this post is to say:

Thank you Amith!!!!! Today he got me my Hairpin and I cannot say enough how much I wuv him.

Heres the magical kill, though all the morons killing every Fly we prevailed!

Poped nice and fast~ first kill got a drop, that makes me 1/4

Next up was the LL. Poor fool stood there, said he’d been there for three hours and stopped killing lizards after the first hour of camping, then complained about how it didn’t pop lol! Are people really that dumb? Anyways eventually I saw Ami flee off and he killed the LL, no drop tho D’: 5 minutes later the LL popped again! Krazy NM, no drop again tho >_< we stayed for a while longer but fools showed up and started to kill all the lizzys so we gave up

Camping today got me thinking about wire-frame on Windower. I really think it’s a step too far. Yes Windower is a 3rd party tool, but the admin have always insisted against giving an unfair advantage for people who use it, which they’ve basically been true to for years. But wire-frame blatantly does give an advantage. I had it on when camping the LL so i could see through the rocks for the pop, and it occurred to me just how underhanded the plug-in was. Everyone else has to run around to see while I could just stand there with x-ray vision. People could argue things like TParty give an unfair advantage but its hardly on the same level. Before anyone thinks it, I did indeedy turn the plug in off after I had my realisation.

I read on their forums that the admins are looking to add a system where people wont loose target when someone switches gear. Ive specifically read the admin saying they wouldn’t allow this plugin as it would give an unfair advantage about a year ago, yet now they’re adding it in. Seems to me theyre taking things too far, its not a windower with neat lil plug-ins any more, turning into a cheating system >:|

Odd tangent, but back on topic…

Windurst [S] is just so good >_<! I’m Bastokian born and bread, but I’m so temped to join the Windurstian war efforts ;_; I feel so ashamed… The Music, look and quests are so much more interesting then Bastoks >_<

I’ve spent a fair amount of time in Windurst [S] doing the quests The climax of the quests is a tense battle at Fort Kanaga-gankoooo where a young Ajido-Marujido is in danger!

I like that you can see its little nose peeking through the stone lol. I was kinda worried about this fight as I’d heard the mob has an instant K.O move if used face to face, and if it uses it face to side/back your HP is reduced to 2%. I knew a Rdm/Nin could kill it, but alas my ninja is still under-leveled D: so I trotted down as rdm/whm for lolbar spells, paralyna etc. The fight was actually really easy It used the KO move and I swear it hit me face to face but I didnt get a KO, just down to 2% HP. Stoneskin wins blah blah blah, In the end I decided to sleep-nuke with Stone III. My reward? stay tuned :O

A reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally cool CS followed! If theres one thing that should stop people complaining about WotG its the excelent CSs~

[This Mage Taru just plain wins, the design is excellent. I'm glad to see the old-school mage look in FFXI, and i think the black cloth over the face is a great way to do it.]

So other going ons, hmm *takes a look in the screenshot folder* oh yes, *ahem*

We tried to kill Guivre, notice i say tried ^^: I have no idea how we failed. The mob must have been at 20% when it used some crazy move on Garry and K.O’d him. After that no-one else really jumped in to tank it so we wiped at 5%ish >_< and then a passing party killed it with its remaining 5% D: Ah well, was fun and killed some time.

Spankey randomly came across Bloodtear Baldurf and engaged, and easy fight… if he had some MP lol. I cant remember what we were doing before hand but somehow we were all able to get a tele-holla and save the Mp-less Elvaan The Lumbering Horn was used to make a Purple belt as a Birthday present for Elle~

Summons are the new in thing to do :O in the past 7 days ive killed Garuda Prime four times (lost once ^^;) and Titan Prime once. So I finally have some Avatars! and a nice 20k profit :3

Speaking of the profit from them, seems the Gil sellers have caught onto this. A group of 5 Blms and one Whm are going around farming the 10k profit, they enter and within less then a minute their out again. 6 people making 10k each on six avatars, 360k in all, just cycling that over and over :\ so I’m pretty sure in a few updates time SE will take out that 10k reward. DAMN U GIL SELLERS!

Ding Ninja 26. Finally leveling it to sub on Rdm. I had a really nice trio with Lee and Pedro 25-26. People were seeking but no one was responding so we decided to just stick with three of us. We used our bands and could chain Gobs in the lower tower for 150-160 exp a kill, fast kills too. Not great exp l’ll admit, but not bad either, it was alot of fun too ^^ nin, nin and whm was a sweet set up. Much prefer this over a 6 man set up.
