<MillionsKnives> Woot woot! CoP Static day!
<Kroeger> Let us all go kick some Mammet arse.
<Spankey> PLd POWer lolz i,m so hIgh
<Othelia> I forgot my food…
<Akaimajikku> what cs do i need?
<Datsuki> O_o
Scary scary Mammets! It took a good two to three weeks of planning to get our final line up for the fight.
Soooo long.
It wasn’t even funny.
Seriously three weeks!
We have such an odd array of jobs in the static it was impossible to follow one of the standard guides. Plus Kroeger was adamant he could tank a Mammet as Drg/Blu, but I was having none of that! After much debate we managed to get a set-up everyone agreed on, kinda a mash of the ’standard’ strategies.
Nin/War (Datsuki)
Blu/Whm (Othelia)
Drk/War (Me)
Pld/War (Spankey)
Whm/Blm (Akaimajikku)
Smn/Whm (Kroeger)
The idea was to split into three teems:
Mammet 1 – Solo tanked by Nin, with assistance from Whm (haste & cures)
Mammet 2 – Carby kited by Smn
Mammet 3 – Tanked by Pld, DD’d by Drk, Blu acts as dual DD and healer.
Team 1 & 2 are to just hold the Mammets. The idea was to get Mammet 3 down as fast as possible to make life easier. To do this the Drk gets 100% TP and uses Berserk+Last Resort+Souleater+Blood Weapon. At the same time the Pld uses Invincible to keep hate. The Blu is emergency healing, but Invincible should minimise healing needed. In theory the Mammet goes down very fast.
Now that only two Mammets are left, the situation of the Nin and Smn are evaluated and the next target is chosen accordingly. From there on out, standard killing, keeping the Mammets locked in Drg form.
So we had a plan. A mix between the kite, Nin+Whm strategies along with an old school Pld+Drk addition. Now to put it into practice!
As is tradition is SM, almost everyone was late, some with CS’s not done. But we got there in the end! Beautiful zone, I needed to take a moment to admire the view. Unlike anything I’ve seen in other games.

Makes me wish FFXI hooked up to my brain like in GitS:SAC. I’d love to be there and feel the icy air brush over my face, sat resting as the sun sets, tired from the long walk to get there.
Smooth getting to the Linn, even if it did take an awful long time ^_^; None the less we arrived at the arena. One test run was planned with no food, meds, 2hrs or items, just to see what we were up against. Kim being a Whm would reraise once we were out and then we go for the final kill!!!!!!

In we goooo!
To be honest I was actually kinda sceptical. I thought we didn’t have enough shadow jobs to pull it off buuuuut
Everything went quite well! Considering we didn’t use food, meds, 2hrs and only tested the liquids it went very well! Team three’s Mammet got down to 40% before we wiped due to positioning issues – too close to eath other so people got caught in -ga spells, plus Kroeger had no clear kitting space. Easily remedied though. All confident we waited for the 3 mins to spit us out when…
Akaimajikku uses Reraise.
<MillionsKnives> kim wait!!1
<Spankey> NO KIM!
Mammet-19 hits Akaimajikku for 152 points of damage.
Akaimajikku falls to the ground.
<Kroeger> NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Laughter, tears and face palming followed. Sweet Kim didn’t realise she needed to wait till we were kicked out, so we’d basically wasted an hour and a half lol! Funny now but at the time I was lost for words XD

<MillionsKnives> Woot woot! CoP Static day take 2!
<Kroeger> Let us all go kick some Mammet bottom.
<Spankey> uuuurg, im hung over
<Othelia> I forgot my food… again…
<Akaimajikku> at least i got my CS done
<Datsuki> o_O
Got to the arena, explained the strategy, test run take 2, kim knows not to reraise till we’re out, new standing positions, BOOM!
In, out, shake it all about. Test run 2 went very very well. Time for the full Monty!
Everything went to plan! I remember at one point saying to Livija with a nervous shocked giggle ‘We’re actually gonna win!’
‘So he did, Lloyd Grossman sources’
No deaths, first real try, take that ‘possibly the hardest CoP mission’. SM kicks yao ass! Great teamwork guys and gals
We were so smug Kroeger and me added the strat to FFXIwiki heehee.

At least 3-3 (also known as ‘the annoying mountain one’) was easier to plan! Not much to note other then the EXTREME STRESS OF CLIMBING THAT F**KING MOUNTAIN!!! …. *deep breath* … it seems so simple once you’ve got to the top tho~
So simple me and Spen decided to do a boneyard gully NM every week, however on our first try that kinda failed due to well… us not knowing we both needed the key item to get into the BCNM ^_^;
Diabolos tomorrow
wish us luck!

March 28, 2008 at 2:43 am | In Party, SM Events | 4 CommentsThe LS exp static is going ahead
we’ve been unlucky all of last week, the jungles have been so crowded! When did people soloing exp mobs become so popular -_-.
But today we made some great exp! I got my ranger from 24 to 27~ I luuuuuuuuuve this job. Deffo my next level 75
Roll on 60 so I can sell my Drk gear!!
There was one tard who complained about us ‘camping on top of them’, what a joke tho lol, we had a lil SM Vs Stranger argument >:D we won! Even Izzy stopped being impartial to the argument lol ^_^
But the main point of this post is to say:
Thank you Amith!!!!! Today he got me my Hairpin
and I cannot say enough how much I wuv him.
Heres the magical kill, though all the morons killing every Fly we prevailed!

Poped nice and fast~ first kill got a drop, that makes me 1/4
*crosses of FFXI goals list* never thought I’d get it ^_^ ty ami!
Next up was the LL. Poor fool stood there, said he’d been there for three hours and stopped killing lizards after the first hour of camping, then complained about how it didn’t pop lol! Are people really that dumb? Anyways eventually I saw Ami flee off and he killed the LL, no drop tho D’: 5 minutes later the LL popped again! Krazy NM, no drop again tho >_< we stayed for a while longer but fools showed up and started to kill all the lizzys so we gave up

Camping today got me thinking about wire-frame on Windower. I really think it’s a step too far. Yes Windower is a 3rd party tool, but the admin have always insisted against giving an unfair advantage for people who use it, which they’ve basically been true to for years. But wire-frame blatantly does give an advantage. I had it on when camping the LL so i could see through the rocks for the pop, and it occurred to me just how underhanded the plug-in was. Everyone else has to run around to see while I could just stand there with x-ray vision. People could argue things like TParty give an unfair advantage but its hardly on the same level. Before anyone thinks it, I did indeedy turn the plug in off after I had my realisation.
I read on their forums that the admins are looking to add a system where people wont loose target when someone switches gear. Ive specifically read the admin saying they wouldn’t allow this plugin as it would give an unfair advantage about a year ago, yet now they’re adding it in. Seems to me theyre taking things too far, its not a windower with neat lil plug-ins any more, turning into a cheating system >:|
Odd tangent, but back on topic…
Cross your fingers for the LL drop~

ToAU: Part 1, The gold coin
March 24, 2008 at 3:06 pm | In ToAU | Leave a Comment**ToAU Spoilers ahead**
Sightings of the Ghost Ship were growing in number every week, even sparking the interests of the Imperial Army, who offered a reward in gold for information retaining to the mysterious ship.
Upon venturing to the Mires of Caedarva for unrelated purposes, Millions became lost in a graveyard of ages past. Through the darkness Millions could see that one grave towered above all the others. Not even the undead skeletons ventured near it. However a golden light flickered from its peak, drawing Knives closer. Reaching out for the gold glow Millions hand was smacked away by a figure emerging from the ground.

“Vile nation… Aht Urhgan… Cannot bear… Cannot bear this anger… Aht Urhgan… Uaaghhh… Uaaaghhh… Cannot forget…forgive…Black…Coffin…Ship… of Ephramad… Sunk… sunk by that… wretched… nation…The Coffin… drifts… I know not… where… Black…Cof… Will no one… send my words…? The warriors… of the Black Coffin… must hear… Hated foe… Vile emperor… Cannot bear… Anger… accursed emperor… Uuuuaaaghhh… Will… no one… hear my plea…? Aaauuuggghhh… This place… I cannot leave… Someone… anyone… Our revenge… on the emperor… begins with the rebirth… of the Black Coffin… Will no one… take this Ephramadian Gold Coin… to the feet of the prince…? Someone… to the prince’s side… End… the reign of the Empire… Uuuuaaaghhh… Luzaf… where are you…?”
The ghost hand drifted towards it rusted sword, however before it could gain a grip the lost soul was impaled by Knives’ sword. Slowly he began to fade from this world, with his last breath the ghost placed the gold glow into Millions hand. When the spirit had vanished the glow faded, revealing a brilliant golden coin.
~
Quickly, Mill returned to Aht Urghan to present his information to President Shaleem. Upon seeing the brilliant gold coin, a shocked President Shaleem confirmed it to be from the 200 year lost empire of Ephramad. Along with five other mercenarys, Millions was ordered straight to the northern reefs, where the last sighting of the Black Coffin had been. Naja knew she had found the lead needed to unveil the secrets of the Ghost Ship, and wasnt letting anyone else get their hands on the Imperials gold.
~
The reefs were littered with ruined ships. Every step revealed a new wreck emerging from the thick fog. After aimless wondering for some time the party wondered onto one of the ships. Out of the fog a Mithran fomor appeared, her eyes blood red from the demon within her brewing for over 200 years;
“Mwahaha… I am Fhu Madihmin… Mwahahahaha… I don’t get many visitors here on the edge of the roof… Bwahahahaha… What could you be looking for? Mwahaha… You don’t have to answer me. I know what you seek… Mwahahahaha… Bwahahahaha… That Ephramadian Gold Coin you clutch in your flesh-and-blood hand… mwahahaha… will be your fare to board the Coffin… My cutter will take you to the… Coffin. Oh, most definitely… Through the mists, I will be your guide… A humble, forgotten ferrywoman… “
Before the Mithra fomor had finished talking the coin was taken from Millions possession, the ores lining the ship flung into action with no physical presence to drive them. With a creak the ship departed port, sailing into the ocean abyss. Soon, out of the mist, a massive shadow came into view, swaying gently from side to side. The Black coffin was approaching.

*Jumps and swords you in the face*
March 15, 2008 at 12:20 pm | In General FFXI | 8 CommentsDeep inside the Quicksand Caves our hero Millions Knives gathered with the lesser heros of Ozrox, Spencer and Amith to find… AND KILL the notorious monster to end all monsters; Scorpy McScorpface.

Scorpy McScorpface didnt stand a chance, and within 15 seconds he was sent to the Crystals… if mobs go there anyway.
By healing throughout this fight, it meant that Mill had gained enough skill with a sword to learn a new weaponskill! …wait… anyways:

The damage is liiike 550ish normally in campaign I guess. Its a step up from what I had before, but really, when you look that cool, who cares about damage?
Red Mage Rules: Skill up sword to 240 at least. It will be underleveled more then likely since you dont get to use it in parties. Having it 240+ really helps in soloing and allows you to access Savage Blade~ which rocks for dmg!
