‘To the Sky…’

Im not gonna beat about the bush, I got Sky a few days ago Finally!

Of course its because Barthezz is back xD When he’s around there is no time for tea and biscuits! While talking it came up that I didn’t have Sky access, and in a shriek of horror he decided it was time to advance my FFXI career. I’d been stuck on the Antican Quicksands Caves BCNM for a good while. We went in with me, Ked and Barth. I was pretty terrible but we got the job done ^^; Later Amith and Spankey popped on for a few fights. Notably Amith tanked the Pot NM as a Drk/nin very well! Thank you to everyone who helped with that frenzy of missions!

Story wise, ZM has been amazing so far. Really giving Vana’diel some depth.

**SPOILERS ONWARDS! highlight to read**

Ive always been up on my Vanadiel histroy, with the 5 races born from Altanas tears etc. Finding out the truth was sweet. I love all the past history and conflict between the three races. I’ve always had a thing for back story that took place in the same setting yet years before hand. I hope they elaborate exactly how close the 3 races were to the Gods 10,000 years ago, did they communicate physically or in a more spiritual sense? Or are all of the Gods sleeping around that time? I find that relationship interesting as they’re family essentially:3

The bit above i’m not sure of Is she talking about the tele-points or the crystals I went and gathered? I assume the gathered crystals, but if they did scatter why are they in small statues? Glad i now know who/what she is, shes been in a few CoP CSs (I think) and I’ve had no idea who she was

Very fond of how they explained the 5 races, the idea is just beautiful!~ Question: The Ark angels were/are Zilart made ‘minion guards’ who evolved into the five races thru the crystals power. Why did the Zilart take time to construct a cute wee little Taru and then Elvaans with big ears? Why have one Angel that looks like themselves and not just all? Also how does even a crystal split them into male/female and then galka with no gender? How are the Angels still around if this is true? Very minor points and I dunno if I’ve missed something, but I like that explained away

Enjoyed the ‘twist’ with the Archduke, finding out he was the younger brother! lol. I just thought that was mint, its a really little thing but so funny & cool <3 didn’t see that coming. I wonder if hes really dead cuz if so that’s just crazy. I thought the whole scenes were very tense, great to watch.

TENSE! The CS were amazing. The fight, ^^; kinda disappointing, SE should make that harder.

Again, great CSs, i was all :O when the poor people actually got hit with the swords, NEEDS MOAR BLOOD . I’d loved to have played thru these missions when they were first out, then finding out the archduke is a Zilart would have been a surprise and id have fainted! Getting Sky when it was first out must have been great!

Seeing that sequence of Sky starting up was great! You see those clips on FFXI music vids everywhere so was extra cool to finally see then in-game. Now I’ve done all that I want my earring! Divine Might here I come! <3 FFXIs story, best so far out of the FFs imo, infact its my fave game ever (well, maybe 2nd to Yoshis Island)

The day ended quietly with me wondering aimlessly around sky. Its a beautiful place. Hmmm, but do I join a sky shell now? I’d quite like Genbus Shield, a bit of Zenith and Crimson. But can I be assed? *Ponder*

Red Mage Rules: Use chainspell to skill up magic in Besieged :3 Revitaliser allows you to do this multiple times for much skill ups! Handy for dark magic indeedy.

Campaign Exp record and Barthezz is back :O!

I made a personal record today My previous record of EXP gained from a single Campaign Battle was 3200 but I broke that by getting 3600 from a Pashhow Campaign. Spen (74 War) and Izzy (60 Sch) were with me got 1500 and 750 respectively from the same battle. Rdm really is the best job for getting EXP from the system. We can gain points for exp in all the fields, I also tanked mobs through that battle as Rdm/Whm. Sure Rdm/Nin would do better on the tanking front but Rdm/Whm can hold those mobs fine plus it doesn’t cost anything, has Erase (which is a godsend against Quadov NMs who AoE knock back gravity), has -Na’s and keeps me self dependent as I have Reraise. When tanking Divine Seal + Convert not only keep me going but keeps ze hate on me if some other fool tries to come and steal my exp *angry fist motion* The point is I <3 Campaign and Rdm lol.

One complaint is the faultly Mobs in Pashhow and the frickin’ NPCs. The Npc’s randomly charge out halfway accross the map to kill the mobs. Sonia ran and claimed Adamantking miles from the fort which pisses me off to no end xD they do this all the time at Pashhow. I’d always thought they followed player who were out to hold Mobs but she really did just run off.

Also the mobs are faulty, we were waitng 15/20 mins after the first wave for a 2nd one, eventually I ran to 1/2 down the map to see a Quadov NM stood still until he agro’d me, i ran for my life linking about 5 other quadov and dropped dead xD. He then headed towards the fort. I got up straight away and chased him, as soon as hit got to the fort 50 NPCs swarmed the NM, killing the it in 10 seconds, I shit you not. Its early days yet so I’m sure it’ll be fixed.

Ooo Ooo, another tip is you can lock the bastard Quadov NMs that AoE Gravity+Knockback into just constantly Protecting themselves by dispelling them constantly lol, makes them allot easier to kill.

OTHER NEWS!!!!!!!!!!

Theres been two 40 cap Brenners in the LS. They’re allot more hectic then the 30 cap we’ve been doing and very fun. Ive gone as both Rdm and dark, Rdm cant hold out but Drk/Whm is hella fun! Blink helps a suprising amout and diaga really screws people over.

I love this shot of me killing Maruk >=D The way he’s kneeling down, falling to the ground with Livija stood staring while I drain the last bit of life from him. Seems like it has a deeper meaning xD

We’ve had a few brenners with 12 people and then they get down to about 6 of us as people have to go. Im really not sure which I prefer, 6 a side is so hectic and mad which makes it fun. However I like the 3 Vs 3 as it feels more personal and you can really analyse the other team.

I’m also gonna point out how insanely overpowered Sam is in 40 cap Brenner, freeking Seigan makes them untouchable. I’d never leveled Sam and i dont know much about it, but id always thought Diaga got rid of Thrid Eye/ Seigan but apparently not xD. We took subjobs off for the last round which totally screwed me over as Drk/Whm but Sam was still strong as ever >:| DAMN YOU TROOPER!

He’s back and transferred to hades As soon as he got on he was back to helping me which I feel bad about >.< We went to skill up in the Tree and I finally got 240 sword skill and this:

Then the next day he’s on helping me camp Ose and get some WS points on it @_@!

We are at the Ose for frigging ages and didn’t see it pop. I’m at 90/300 points from it though can’t wait to get that WS! Also while there I treated myself and got me this:

yes, yes, its kinda late as I’m 75, but what the hey. At least it made up for not getting the Assault Jerkin.

Barthezz comming back makes me realise how little I accomplish in game without him >.>; My last major breakthrough was Rank 10 in Bastok and that was with his help. When he logged on I thinking ‘hmm, I should really go to the AH and get some better gear xD’ because nothing has changed since he left lol. In the end there wasn’t really anything I could get except Wooden Gauntlets and l’ll be fooked if im spending 700k on them. Oh well… I did plan to have Nin at 37 by now, but Ni has jumped from 270k to 350k just as I need to buy it. I saw it for 270k and thought, ‘It’ll fall in price.’ -_-. I burnt the last of the seals I had with Lee and Spen on PP in the hopes of Ni but we didn’t get anything useful at all.

CoPs being slowly going ahead. The Minotor fight was allot easier then I thought, Livija back-tanked making it easy as hell. Even getting there went very smooth ^^ We tried to farm a few subligars after but didn’t have enough people.

Tonight is the first try of 2-5 @_@ wish us luck.

But who is the man behind the name? Idk, and this blog entry isn’t about that. This entry is a tribute of sorts to Amith and shows why I like the little moogle hater.

I’m gonna spend the next 27 lines listing the reasons I like Amith.

Here I go!

He’s a Summoner, he can summon pets ya know.
He’s a Dark Knight.
He teases me about getting Drk to 75 when I haven’t )’:
He’s always there to help me.
He’s called Dave, that makes me laugh. teehee.
He’s someone I can count on to talk too. If I ever need to open a vain he’ll be there like a teddy bear to soak it up with his many layers of stuffed wool.

He’s Scottish, wait, that’s a bad point.
He found out about Izzy’s gun. She has a gun ya know.
He picks my side in arguments, unless I’m arguing with him, then he kinda doesn’t, but that makes sense.
He comes to raise me when I’m dead. Oh-Ho how easily bought I am.
He sounds all monotone in my head. I’ve heard his voice but I’ve forgotten how it sounds, its replaced with my imagination and given a voice like the robot from Hitch-hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

He makes fun of me all the time and is friends with Batman irl. wait, is that two separate points?!
He keeps my secret about the LS secret (that i hate them all, especially Lee, I mean, god damn Lee, I’m sick of his Leeing.)
He has wings, he cant fly with them unfortunately. I’d liken him and his wings to a penguin.

He hangs out with me on ffxi. :O

I can waste hours with him and have fun …. awww no I broke the ‘He’ and ‘Hes’ Chain.

He knows my Rdm is the best job but still tries to fight the Smn and Drk corner. Good show old chap!
I can be a jerk to him, and it all blows over in the end. Just like an episode of Star Trek. Like when he didnt come to something because of Sky, I was crazy and insane in the membrane to be angry, but its allllllll ok now. Sorry btw.

The list does go on! There’s at least another two points, I cant reveal all my inner thoughts tho can I? gotta keep people guessing!
Its great we can waste hours together and have fun, (well I have fun at least). The two screenshots above illustrate this point so amazingly its almost unholy. The two of us were up late after a Garuda run, messing about chatting. After running around the desert for ages we stopped, stood opposite each other for a while, then he summoned and we stood sumore. It was hella funny for some reason, seemed as if we were about to dual *cue the cowboy music*. I’m glad we do things like that, its pointless and kills my sleeping cycle as we stay up till 4am but the way it happens shows we have a PSYCHIC LINK! and it makes me giggle, so much giggling goes on.

Furthermore, Dave is always up to help. Simply, id be fooked without him and get nothing done. Id like to repay him more but he never really seems to need anything I can help with and when he does need something he asks as soon as I get a party.

Mainly because im not a fan of refreshing for hours on end, but with a Smn there things are so much nicer because of Hastega and Earthen Ward :3 If we could set up LS merit partys more I’d go D:

Circa 13/10/07 Where’s Wally? Here we see my last Dynamis to date, I lost all the exp I made in the party before hand and so haven’t gone since. When you hate partying as much as I, exp loss on mass is a big deal >:| Now I can exp off campaign, I may start up again.

Circa 16/12/07 Just standin’ I actually think he was AFK or just not talking in this picture. I took this to illustrate how much better I look then him. Actually I look better then anyone else on the game really, but this gets my point across. However now I’m using it in his tribute post, so l’ll lie and say I took it to show how good he looks …………… next to me.

The point is, now I’ve dedicated a whole blog entry to him like he’s always wanted (with 1237 words no less!) he has to come to the Linkshell meet in July ^.^ because I cant wait to meet him! So Amith, please vist the forum here and post ur name ~yay.

SM IRL Meet!

ok, ok,

it was a little while ago, i just cant think how to write it up. But something hit me today, after my Horlicks and Soya milk – it was the immense need to throw up! I havn’t done that yet, but boy do i feel sick. However a second thing has hit me….

:O I didnt think it would ever happen either, but here i go!

Activity: Suicide Moogles Meet up

Attendees: Myself, Livi, Spen, Lee, Garry, Charlie (Spankey), Kyle, Kim, Kroeger and Mark (Maruk)

Outcome: Funness!

It was very cool alkward at first as always, but that fades bit. I had met Kyle a year ago in Dec 2006, and Charlie in Dec 2007. It was my first time meeting Mark, Kim and Kroeger

We wondered around allot, seemed to get a bite to eat every seconds as an excuse to go indoors from the cold lol. Had a very awkward eat in Cafe Nova. We went in and as soon as i saw the ‘Please wait to be seated’ in a Cafe i knew this wasnt the place for us. We were past the point of no return though, cant have so many people walk in and then walk out xD the waitresses that served us looked like theyd seen a ghost lol, were we really that roudy? So we sat, in this freeky posh cafe, apparent comeuppance for me insisting that we go somewhere ‘not gypsy’ (which Kyle and Kim found hilarious o.O).

A small saga in there was the quest for cake. A foreign waitress mentioned something about cake being 2 for 1 with coffee, but no one really heard what she said so we didn’t have a clue what the exact method to get this cake was ; ;. It must have taken us nearly an hour to figure out what the deal with the cake, do we go up and order it? Do they come to us? Is it 2 for 1? Is it free with coffee? Have we missed our chance? Did she even mention cake? What matters is in the end we got it! … It was gross xD Kim had s slab of lemon cake which was gross lol, and the rest had some odd chocolate cake o_o but anyways, 2 for 1! Turned out at £26 for 8 of us all with coffee and cake! :3 not bad~

It was great having Kyle in there, he cant be quiet to save his life xD cringe worthy but its what makes him a laugh! You could see the fear in the waitresses eyes! <3 Kroeger had this hat he bought ’specially which caused sooo much fuss lol. When he took it off for someone to wear another would appear on his head! Magic! Been meaning to ask if theres something behind that nice hat tho. In ze Cafe i noticed Spen had a cigarette burn too, from a game he was playing, id like to see what hes like at uni, sounds more fun XD. Another instance of the weird cafe was Kim needed the loo and we couldn’t see it anywhere, so she asked and was handed a bit’o paper with the secret code for the toilet o_o which at the time was very funny.

Later we met up with Spankey and Mark. Finding Mark was a right mission! He had no idea where he was and we couldnt pinpoint where he was either. The only clue we had was he was ginger and he knew to look for Garrys blue hair, eventually we found him at the bus station. Mak had kinda stopped playing FFXI, im so glad i met him tho. I actually spend quite allot of time in game with him, so was great to meet him irl, hes just like i though hed be, only mini ;P

Spank i’d met in Dec as i said, so picking him out in a crowd was easy peasy, he had a book with him from the train like last time . Spank is just like in game and a really nice chatty guy.

We headed towards the trams to get to…. wherever we were going, some centre, the Arena? That was a mission in itself, complicated trams @_@. When we got there, we kinda got lost ^^; I lead everyone across a field to the wrong place~ Woot! Our aim was to go bowling. Spen sweetly took the day off work and set up a regime of what we could do as he knows the lay of the land :3 but the bowling alleys were fully booked till 10pm!

Our answer?

Go for more food!

Oh man, the food. This resteraunt was great, i had 1/2 ribs :3 so nice. bit of FFXI chat went on ^^. After that, Sweeney Todd! 10 people went in, 5 hopeful of a good movie. 10 people came out, all hating it. What a lame movie, we ALL hated it, i even fell asleep during it. But it gave us something to bitch about as a group. While queuing, we lost Kim, and after a while looking found she was sat down at the other end of the cinema. She did this so much lol, every time you turn around shes found a seat xD

By that time it was getting late and Spankey had to go. I love the way spankey talks about FFXI btw, he really takes it as a game to have fun with, and once uve met him you understand why he dies so much, he really just doesn’t care! With our last hour the rest of us sat in burger king and got some hardcore ffxi chat going lol. This chat sparked a little of Maruks love for FFXI back (I think its after we were talking about dream gear, he had a loooong list of Sam gear he wanted). I thought it was weird the way we all knew one another, but its kinda alkward to talk, but then FFXI pops up and BOOM! we’re away with some weird language we all understand. By the time our trains arrived we were all ready to drop – there was allot of walking in that day!

I had a great day. Things were kinda slow and abit awkward at times as we didnt know what to do, but we all loosened up towards the end ^_^ Allot of us said we wished we hadn’t been so shy afterwards. If only we could have met each other again the next day as things could have really got going!

I loved meeting everyone! <3 you SM! Wish I could write more about what you all did and what you were like, but I was in such a state at the time I can barely remember it! Seems like it was all over in 2 seconds! I had lots of fun which is for sure, I cant wait to see you all again in the summer They’ll be even more of us :O! Then we have a whole 3/4 days around each other who will kill who first eh?
